Come see Wolves, Foxes and Bobcats at the Lakota Wolf Preserve

Enjoy a scenic walk to the Lakota Wolf Preserve observing the many forms of local wildlife along the way. Upon arrival at the Preserve you will be invited to the observation area, in the center of four packs of wolves. During our informal talks with the people who raised and care for the wolves you will learn about the social structure of wolf packs, their eating habits, their interaction with man and many other interesting facts. We will try to educate you on the true behavior of the wolf and will be glad to answer any questions you may have. While in the observation area you will be able to watch the wolves play, interact with each other and maybe even hear them howl.

	The Wolf Watch programs are presented Twice Daily and last for 1.5 hours: Now through March 9th, 2013 watches begin at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm. You must arrive at 10:00 or 2:30 to register and park your vehicle. Please do not arrive before 9:45 am for the morning watch or before 2:15 pm for the afternoon watch or you will be denied entrance by Camp Taylor. Beginning March 10th, 2013 thru Nov 2nd, 2013 watches begin at 10:30 am and 4:00 pm You must arrive at 10:00 or 3:30 to register and park your vehicle. Please do not arrive before 9:45 am for the morning watch or before 3:15 pm for the afternoon watch or you will be denied entrance by Camp Taylor. You will miss the wolf watch if you arrive after the registration times. Please Note that there are only two times during the day to view the wolves. Please meet at the Camp Taylor Office. No appointment needed for Saturdays and Sundays for individuals and families. Any group must have an appointment even on weekends - please call 877 SEE WOLF to make an appointment. Closed Monday's. In winter, always call before coming - toll free 877-733-9653 - a recording will say if we are closed due to icy conditions Please meet at the Camp Taylor Office. Proper footwear is a must. No open back shoes or sandles will be allowed due to rough terrain. Pets are not permitted on the Camp Taylor grounds or at the Preserve. There are no exceptions.

Q. Can we take photos of the Wolf Watch?

A. Yes, But you will have chainlink fencing in your photographs. Photographers pay for a private session. They photograph from our walkways through portals in the fencing.

Q. Can we get a ride to the Preserve if we can't hike the half a mile trail?

A. Yes. We take you up in our bus.

Q. Can Lakota Wolf Preserve help me write my school paper?

A. No! Come and listen to our talk - ask questions - take notes and write a great paper yourself!

Q. Can I bring my pet?

A. No! Day visitors to the campground and Wolf Preserve are not permitted pets.
